St. Francis is seeking self-motivated, organized individuals who are dedicated to promoting social justice through sustainable community building in Baltimore City. All internships are unpaid positions, with the possibility of receiving academic credit.

Executive Associate
Education: Everyone is welcome to apply. Currently enrolled undergraduates or graduates with Bachelor’s degree preferred in social sciences, social work or related field.
Area of Focus: community building and renewal, community service, education, fundraising, nonprofit management.
Position Summary: This position supports the Executive Director in managing a small, community-based nonprofit.
Tasks:
1) Program development, implementation, management, and evaluation.
2) Grant writing and fundraising.
3) Marketing and communications.
4) Website: coordinating updates.
5) Newsletter: writing and assembling.
6) Event planning: aiding in logistics and planning for annual Festival and Gala.
Mentorship Coordinator
Education and Experience: Everyone is welcome to apply. Currently enrolled undergraduates or graduates with Bachelor’s degree preferred, or people with relevant experience.
Area of Focus: mentor partnerships, youth development, education, community building.
Position Description: This position supports the Volunteer Coordinator in recruiting, matching, and retaining mentors with youth in our after school program, The Power Project.
Tasks:
1) Recruit mentors in Baltimore City to be matched with youth in the Power Project.
2) Work with Volunteer Coordinator to establish a sustainable model for supporting and maintaining mentor partnerships and parent buy-in.
3) Organize activities for mentors and mentees.
4) Update mentor handbook.
Power Project Program Coordinator (2 positions available)
Education and Experience: Everyone is welcome to apply. Currently enrolled undergraduates or graduates with Bachelor’s degree in education or social sciences preferred, or people with relevant experience.
Area of Focus: Education, youth development, nonprofit, skill building, community building.
Position Summary: This position supports the Power Project Program Manager in developing and implementing day to day youth programming in academic enrichment, mentorship, and the
arts. Involves hands on work with youth ages 4 – 14.
Tasks:
1) Plan, implement, and compile activities pertaining to our year-long themes: Nonviolent Communication, Identity, Community Mapping, and International Connections.
2) Conduct research and design curriculum.
3) Outreach to potential partner organizations and businesses.
4) Marketing: assist with creation and distribution of promotional materials.
Education and Assessment Specialist
Education and Experience: Everyone is welcome to apply. Currently enrolled undergraduates or graduates with Bachelor’s degree in statistics, education, mathematics, or social sciences preferred, or people with relevant experience.
Position Summary: This position supports the Power Project Program Associate in assessing and tracking the progress of youth enrolled in The Power Project, our after school enrichment program.
Tasks:
1) System design and implementation: create a database and spreadsheets to track academic and social progress in youth.
2) Research and compile recommendations for best practices in evaluation.
3) Conduct and track assessments for grant reporting.
4) Data entry and organization.
5) Assist with coordination of school and teacher partnerships.
6) Assist with development of individualized academic enrichment, such as tutoring.
Administrative and Communications Specialist
Education and Experience: Everyone is welcome to apply. Currently enrolled undergraduates or graduates with Bachelor’s degrees in human resources, nonprofit management, or social sciences preferred, or people with relevant experience.
Position Summary: This position supports the Power Project, an after school youth development program in organization and communications. Social media savvy highly preferred.
Tasks:
1) Organize correspondence and promotions with parents, partners, and donors.
2) Create and disseminate promotional materials to media, neighborhoods and web, including social media.
3) Coordinate and solicit in kind donations.
4) Complete general office work as needed: answering phones, filing, curriculum organization.
